I have inherited an old 2011 Toshiba 42SL758B TV and I am having a massive headache getting it to Sync with my Samsung HT-C350 Home Cinema Kit.On the back of the Toshiba there is an optical out which I plug into my Samsung Home Cinema. The problem is that the Audio coming out of the TV is already behind the picture which means that any correction I can do on my Samsung device is pointless.I also have a Virgin Media V+Box and if I plug in the optical cable in there to the Samsung Home Cinema box, I have an 125ms delay which I can apply and all is well. This means that the Toshiba TV is already doing some delay to the sound. I checked the settings and noticed there is this lip sync option which was enable, so I decided to disable it. When I connected the optical out from the TV to the Sound system the sound is already too late. The above link is the manual to the TV's audio sound settings. I am confused on what to do next and do not understand how the sound can be delay already even when the lip sync is turned off.

I know I could just plug my V+Box to the Samsung and do it that way, but I want to connect my PC or a Chromecast (when it comes out in the UK) and without the optical out plugged into the TV will mean I will not be able to enjoy the sound from the home cinema.I have checked for the latest firmware, and the 738B is not there, however 738F/G/N/R are there but I don't know if that is the same. Can anyone help or suggest things that I have missed. MMmm, just searching for ideas here because this may be difficult. Are you sure that it's the sound is too late rather than too early? It's quite common for processing technologies to delay the picture and make the sound early? If that was the case you might be able to delay the sound using one of your delay settings.By chance, is there another source of TV audio out you can use?Can you explain a bit more about why you can't go from the V+ to the Samsung and then on to the TV? Wouldn't the sound then be coming along with the signal from the V+ and all be well?

I am pretty positive it is slower. This is how I know. The Toshiba has this Regza link. When the HDMI is plugged in between the TV and Samsung DVD/Home Cinema the TV speakers is overridden and only the Samsung Speakers are in use. By removing the HDMI cable from the TV I can have both the TV and the Samsung Device playing at the same time. Now the Delay on the Samsung is set to 0ms in both the below scenario. The optical cable is plugged into the TV. When playing both the TV and Samsung speaker you can here that the TV speaker plays before the Samsung speaker. The optical cable is plugged into the V+Box. When playing both the TV and Samsung speaker you can now hear that the Samsung Speaker plays earlier than the TV.In the second scenario I have the opportunity to delay the sound therefore getting the sync more or less right, i.e. 125msThe first scenario by delaying the sound I just make it worse. This is why I am pretty sure that the TV is actually doing some delay to the sound and I don't know how to disable it.

Not sure what this means? The Samsung Home Cinema has one optical input. I basically want the TV to control what gets delivered to the Samsung Home Cinema.

If the V+Box dictates what sound gets outputted, if I want to move to another media like a PC connected via HDMI I will not get sound delivered to my Samsung Home Cinema unless I take the optical cable out of the V+Box and hock it to my PC and use the PC (say VLC) to delay or increase the sound on the media that is playing.I hope that make sense.
